Designed by Casberg the sketch of a new model for the Imperial Labor Service Hewer was rejected. This pattern was supposed to replace the early pattern of the hewer, model 1934, that became a part of the uniform of rank-and-file members. This sketch was not adopted. For production was adopted the sketch designed by the Labor Service staff artistic advisor Egon Jantke.
